Position Summary:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company’s production scheduling and planning system. This role ensures alignment between customer demand, production capacity, and material availability to support efficient, on-time order fulfillment.

This is a foundational role within the organization. The Master Scheduler will not simply manage schedules, but will build the scheduling function from the ground up. This includes introducing structured planning processes, improving data accuracy, and supporting the transition toward a more formal Material Requirements Planning (MRP) approach. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, adaptable, and motivated to create meaningful operational improvements.
 
 
Essential Responsibilities:
 
 
  • Develop and maintain a Master Production Schedule (MPS) that aligns customer demand with production capacity and material availability.
  • Balance work center capacity, labor constraints, and shifting priorities to ensure efficient workflow across the operation.
    Manage the schedule
  • Take ownership of the full order-to-ship process. This includes helping define and improve how orders move from entry through production and ultimately to shipment.
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and gaps, and work cross-functionally to implement improvements.
  • Support the company’s transition toward a more structured, MRP-driven planning environment. This includes helping define and maintain bills of materials, routings, and lead times, as well as ensuring the integrity of data within ERP systems.
  • Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, and Shipping teams to align priorities, customer demand (both firm ordered and forecasted),
  • Communicate schedule changes and ensure execution.
  • Track key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, forecast accuracy, and lead times, using this data to drive continuous improvement.
 
 

Qualifications:
 
 
  • 4 - 5+ Years of experience in production planning, Master scheduling or equivalent in education and experience is a must.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Requires being comfortable working in an environment where processes are still being developed and refined. 
  • Experience with Excel, ERP, and MRP systems is required; preferential consideration given to those with INFOR Syteline v10 experience. 
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments are critical to success.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
 
  • Warehouse & Production environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Sitting, Standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50lbs) for extended periods.
  • May require occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work.
 
Role Insight:

This is not a traditional scheduling role. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping build structure where it does not currently exist. They will play a key role in transitioning the organization from reactive, experience-based scheduling to a more disciplined, data-driven approach.
