Position Summary:
The shipping lead will assist with daily oversight of processes and procedures in the shipping department. Accountable for knowing the daily schedule and removing barriers to productivity for accomplishing the schedule requirements. This position also assists the shipping manager with special assignments and projects. This position requires good communication skills including the ability to work well with fellow employees and internal departments. Also requires strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Proactively work with shipping team members and shipping manager regarding customer orders, shop orders, production timing, shipping schedules and ship dates.
- Understand daily goals and daily schedule.
- Demonstrate Leadership: cultivate desire in associates to strive toward common goals, using social intelligence, an openness to change, and above all, the ability to set their sights on the things that truly merit attention.
- Oversee and assist with shipping orders and staging of different stations in shipping.
- Ability to safely & skillfully operate both onsite forklifts (sit down and stand-up), hand trucks and pallet jacks to move materials to storage or work areas.
- Willingness to learn new things including changing over bagging and boxing stations for certain products next in the queue.
- Develop and maintain high level of competency and working knowledge with all shipping machines and equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Awareness for and proactive communication about inventory of materials and supplies to ensure continuity of production.
- Ability to adapt to changes in priority and needs with ease and grace.
- Ability to serve the needs of individuals for the benefit of the team’s accomplishments (“do what it takes” to get the job done)
- Work with Shipping Manager on performance metrics, goals, employee reviews, and fill in for Shipping Manager when the shipping manager is not present.
- Ability to follow all shipping procedures and safety measures for everyone’s safety.
Qualifications:
- Strong track record of success in a shipping environment
- Quality inspection, sorting and counting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of product packaging processes with ability to give clear direction to team.
- Previous experience pulling product, building skids with product, packaging/boxing product.
- Previous leadership training and experience is preferred.
- Experience using an ERP system; Shop Track and Syteline a plus.
- Must be highly organized, motivated, and coachable.
- Forklift certified preferred.
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Additional secondary education a plus
Choose your Shift: 1st shift hours are the following options:
- 7AM - 3:30PM (8 hrs Mon - Friday)
Pay: $17-18/HR based off experience and interview
